There are two openings at segments 6-8, which are the locations of the sperm receptacles.

To breed worms, cross-fertilization is required, with one worm pressing its head against the tail of another worm (as shown in the image).

The sperm of one worm enters the sperm-receiving pouch of the other worm, where it stays temporarily to prepare for the next fertilization.

At this time, the genital belt thickens, receives some eggs, and moves up to the top of the worm’s head to receive sperm in the sperm storage pouch.

After that, it emerges and tightly knots both ends into a worm cocoon.

Number of earthworms born:

How does earthworm born: Worms give birth to cocoons, each containing 2 to 20 worm babies.

The number of cocoons depends on the worm species and the adult worm’s age.

After 2 to 4 weeks, the cocoons can hatch depending on the living environment (an important factor in successful cinnamon worm farming).

However, in nature, worm cocoons can survive in the soil for about a year, only hatching when suitable conditions arise.

On average, each cocoon hatches 6 to 20 worm babies, and after 70 days, the worm babies are fully grown and mature.

Worm cocoons have an oval shape (as shown in the image), initially born light yellow, then gradually turning dark brown, and the hatched cocoons are gray-black in color.

The breeding time for cinnamon worms is continuous throughout the year and occurs once a week on average.

This is why the cinnamon worm mass in our farm always increases exponentially.
